Hi all,

I need a few pointers from anyone who has experience shooting in a snowy enviroment. I will be shooting a defensive driving program this weekend. The shots will be used for the company's marketing of these type of events so there may be some addit opportunity if all goes well.
Anything I should watch out for specifically ?
Thanks, Steve

Main thing I can suggest it to be carefull about blowing out the snow..Id say shoot raw and under x a tad to be safe..

I had to shoot in snow last year for a catalog, this page was immensely helpful for me: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/exposing_snow.shtml

If you are using auto exposure, its actually unlikely to blow out the snow, and more likely you will be underexposed by a full stop. Pay attention to the histograms and adjust exposure, or go to manual mode and get it to the right point.

Also, you can either meter for the snow or the vehicles, as depending on the color of the vehicle, there may be too much contrast to get the snow and the vehicle exposure correct together. So probably better to blow out the snow a bit than to have the vehicles too dark.
