the car is parked in the parking lot.
You need a MUCH slower shutter speed to get some background blur. Also, parking lines are the devil when it comes to professional looking shots. If there's parking lines, get low so you can't see them.

I think the dust/smoke behind the car suggests the motion pretty good. I wouldn't say that the shot *needs* a slower shutter speed. Might be nice though :-)

Well, it looks like it is doing a burn-out, not a drift shot. So without a caption, the viewer is not going to know that it is in motion.

I agree that a slower shutter speed would have been great, but I think this guy was doing a burnout or going extremely slow I cant remember. Thanks for the comments.

How do you do a burnout without spiing the wheels?

Dang! Good point, a slower shutter speed would have shown motion in the wheel. I might do a little more PP to give this image that look. Thanks

Honestly, I think it could make a pretty cool effect with some uber-slow panning....

The parking lot lines are what make the shot in this case.
Background does not need to be blurred, just the wheels

Easy, you smoke the clutch. Then when you friends come running up with their arms waving in a cross formation telling you stop, you think you've just won the burnout contest. ;)
