I assume this question could probably be answered using FotoQuote from what I've gathered from some other pricing threads however this issue just came up today. A regional racetrack would like to use one of my images in a poster being produced to advertise an upcoming regional touring series event. Any help on what may be a reasonable price to charge? Thanks for any input.

You need to know how big the poster will be, how much of the poster is your image (100%-50%-10?%?) how many they are printing, where they will be distributed...
Foto quote would help but you need the above info.

Brent:
Would agree with using Foto quote as well.... I know I have gotten myself into some pretty heated 'discussions' with a few on this forum about setting correct pricing (within the motorsports side of the business).
I was fortunate enough to have a request from Wells Fargo Bank to use one of my shots of the Bob Stallings Daytona Prototype that races in the Grand-Am Series....had no idea what to price and used Foto Quote....As I was 'lectured' to several times in the past about my pricing being way to low and a discredit to others, I decided to take the high recommended price (based on circulation) and bumped it up....After only two rounds of discussions, we settled on a price that was still above the high price recommended.....
Here is another story about pricing, I had a team in Grand Am use me for a year and when I decided not to follow the Series in 06, recommended they use another photographer....thought for sure, the price would not go up, as although they 'were' a prototype team, photography was not a high priority....Well they did pay more for the photography!
My point, you need to make sure you price accordingly...perhaps the reason this thread has no activity is no one wants to "share" their business model...perhaps emails to a few might get you more insight?
Good luck and post the image after you have closed the deal! :)

This is a tough question to answer as there is not enough information... and it falls into a category that is a bit of a moving target. It sounds like it may be a somewhat "local" short run job.
I'm guessing they're going to print 100-500 and probably around 16x20 - assuming it's a window poster for local stores and businesses.
At that rate, you're looking at around $750 one time use. They're porbably not going to pay that. $550 is FotoQuotes low price. I'm thinking if you can get $350 - $500, you're having a good day. Barter to have your name/copyright on the poster... do what you can to get the job... just keep your dignity. :)
