I like them, they have a nice feel to them :-) I think #6 and #7 are my favorites. #6 I love the dark forest in the background, and the fence line curving into the road line. #7 I like the arrangement of stuff, especially the wrench hanging off the car, I think that's a wonderful capture :-)

Neat stuff. I really like the retro stuff I've seen on this forum. It seems more than just a B&W treatment, no? Are you shooting any differently at capture if you know you're going for this eventual final image?

Thanks, Daniel and Bill
Daniel #7 this is how the mechanic left it, he was nowhere in sight. I thought it made a nice "story." Do you think that #3 and #8 would benefit from a darker back ground?Bill, I thoroughly read JT's Journal entry "Black and White... The Chicken, or the Egg?" along with his other various posts regarding B&W conversions and then "cooked them to taste" to paraphrase JT. I didn't really shoot with B&W conversion in mind but I did review my images from the races thinking B&W. For conversion I used PS Elements 6 with a B&W conversion plugin. PS Elements B&W conversion looked a little too clean (read digital). #8 was scanned from a color slide and converted to B&W. John |
